REd Hot Tips

  • Pack a selection of clothing to cover all seasons – include smart clothing for work.
  • Sort out accommodation for your first few weeks. Remember, REd will pay for your first few nights if staying in a hotel or hostel. Even better, is ‘dossing’ with a friend for your first two weeks until you find your feet and start earning those wonderful pounds!
  • Ensure you have registered with a limited company before you leave home and keep a receipt of your flight tickets.
  • Bring a credit card and enough money for a deposit or bond (normally you are required to pay one months rent in advance as well as one month upfront for your bond).
  • On arrival, invest in an ‘A to Z’ map and get that mobile phone working
  • Be punctual for work. Always arrive at least half an hour before school starts. If you’re running late, always keep us informed.
  • Be enthusiastic! Schools will appreciate your fresh approach and adaptability. Join in and make an effort to get to know pupils and staff.
  • Safety and supervision requirements in schools – never touch a child and keep students in sight at all times
