REd Ltd Company Policy
We aim to comply with the 8 key points set out in Schedule 1 of the Data Protection Act 1998
- Relevant and necessary data will be held with the individual´s consent
- Data will only be held for lawful purposes.
- Excessive data will not be gathered, only that which is relevant to a future employer.
- Individual teachers will be able to update or withdraw their own data.
- Data will not be kept longer than necessary for the recruitment process.
- Data will not be processed or passed on for direct marketing purposes.
- Personal details will be kept in a confidential area and only released when REd International have taken reasonable steps to identify their clients as genuine potential employers of teachers. The passing on of this data will be authorised by the data subject (teacher) as part of an online agreement.
- Transfer of data to a destination (usually a school) outside the European Economic Area will only take place with the agreement of the data subject.
Procedures
- Data stored on computer will only comprise that entered by the data subject, through the structured forms online, and the addition of a personal CV.
- This will only be the data relevant to potential employers, usually schools, to satisfy their recruitment criteria.
- Teachers (data subjects) will be allocated a personal ID and their own choice of password, to enable them to withdraw/update data.
- Once a teacher is placed in employment, their data will be removed from the register. Regular email checks with the data subject will authorize this.
- REd Ltd has taken reasonable steps to confirm that they only pass data on to bona fide clients (schools/employers) by checking their web address and phoning the school name stated to confirm the names of relevant personnel. Each client will be allocated a code for future reference.
